WEEK 23

Kyler is about 11½ inches long and should weigh over a pound!!!!!!

According to the Pregnancy Guide Online if Kyler was born now he would have a chance for survival! "Let's hope, however, that the baby stays put for several more weeks!" They also said that the baby still has room to move around so I may be feeling kicks, jabs, flips and flops... I may even see my abdomen move!!!!

Then I found it interesting what 3D Pregnancy had to say about the baby's development at this point:
"Your baby's got a while to go before [his] lungs will be ready for air and is practicing [his] 'breathing' on the amniotic fluid—sucking it in and out of [his[ lungs." "Fat production is in overdrive at this point. Your baby will basically double in weight over the next four weeks!"

STOP!! You're tickling me!

Starting yesterday Kyler has been kicking around my belly button area! It feels almost like I am having little muscle spasms from the inside of my tummy only.... unlike muscle spams, this tickles!!!! LOL I was laying in bed last night trying to go to sleep and at the same time I couldn't stop quietly giggling to myself because the little monster inside me is tickling his mommy!!!

Let's just hope he doesn't remember how ticklish his mom is when he gets older!

Beautiful song

I put this song on Kyler's blog because I heard it the other day on the radio and all I could think about was Kyler! It is such a sweet song describing the relationship I feel I already have with my son.

The song is When I Look at You by Miley Cyrus

A kick!

I have been feeling Kyler kick and move around inside my tummy for many weeks now... but, every time he does it I put my hand there to see if I can feel it from the outside.

TODAY I felt something funny and put my hand on my tummy where I felt a lump. At first I was freaking out because I had no idea why I should be feeling a lump on my tummy!!! Then, is the lump went away IT HIT ME!!!!!! It was Kyler!!!! LOL

22 WEEKS!!!

"Guess what? At 22 weeks pregnant, your baby has finally broken the one-pound mark. How heavy is that? Hold a one-pound box of sugar in your hand the next time you're in the grocery story (and expect people to ask you why you're grinning from ear to ear). Is the box eight inches long? That's about the length your baby is too!

This week, your sweetie is making more sense of the world as he or she develops the sense of touch. In fact, your little one's grip is quite developed by now — and since there's nothing else to grab in utero, he or she may sometimes hold on tight to that umbilical cord (don't worry — it's tough enough to handle it). The sense of sight is also getting more developed. Your fetus can now perceive light and dark much better than before (even with those fused eyelids). But remember — unless you're shining a flashlight over your belly (which you can do, by the way), it'll be mostly dark for your baby inside that cozy womb of yours.

Moving up from the eyes, the eyelashes and eyebrows are well formed now — and even more hair is sprouting atop that cute little head. You'd be quite surprised, though, if you could see your little one up close and in color. Hair at this stage of fetal development has no pigment, so it's bright white."

Nursery Bedding

I thought some of you might like to see the new nursery bedding for Kyler!
It's a 6 piece set that includes: Crib sheet, bumper, quilt, dust ruffle, diaper stacker and window valance. I got trains because Kyler's dad is into them and so was my dad! Now Kyler will have something in common with his daddy and Opa! :)

Out of town adventure...

I am currently in California with my mom visiting my sister. On Wednesday morning around 4am I started to get a familiar feeling that I might have another urine infection. Later in the morning I called my doctor's office and told them about the situation. Due to my experiences with urine infections during this pregnancy, they suggested that I see someone today. So, I called my insurance company to find out where I could go that would be covered.

Once we got the address and hit the road, it took us forever to find the Urgent Care! The address wasn't correct and no one really seemed to know where it was. We did eventually find it, but once I was at the desk they told me that they did not take walk-ins! BUT.... the nice receptionist called the doctor and , not only did he agree to see me that day but, he agreed to see me right then!!!

In the exam room the doctor confirmed that I did have a urine infection and, ironically he used to be an OBGYN, he prescribed me an antibiotic safe enough to take while pregnant. He sent the prescription down to the pharmacy in the lobby, but it turns out that they don't accept my insurance. So, we went to a CVS Pharmacy thinking that it was generic enough to take most insurances, but we were way wrong. Luckily, the antibiotics were only $25, so I just got them anyway!

So... everything should be good! I am just grateful that I felt something this time because in the beginning of the pregnancy I had no clue until I started spotting!

Family and friends....

I have designed this site specifically for family and friends who are unable to see Kyler as much as they would like. I will be updating the site a few times a week, especially after he is born! I was hoping to put on here a recent picture from my ultrasounds, but this is the only one that I have on my computer. It is from a hospital visit in November, when I was only 1 month along. I will post some newer pictures on here very soon! Please feel free to leave comments or questions on the site and I will always respond promptly!

Lastly, thank you for all the loving support and concern! I love you all!!!

Welcome

This is a blog devoted completely to my "on the way" baby boy due in July 2010!!!!!
