Any time now....

Well... I just got back from my doctor's appointment... I have to admit, I have a really funny doctor! While he was checking to see how far I was dilated, Kyler started wiggling all around. I said, "I don't think he likes that." and the doctor replied with a smile, "Of course not... he's getting a little head message!" LOL Well....

I am dilated to 4 centimeters and am 90% e-faced!!!!!!!

I can go at any time! This seems so surreal now.... and a little scary! LOL The doctor had me make an appointment for Monday just in case I don't have him before then. So... now we enter the waiting game.... when's he gonna come?!!? LOL

39 Weeks.... ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

ONE WEEK TO GO!!! THANK HEAVENS!!!!!!!! LOL

Ok, so... as I was ready about Kyler for the week I began to laugh at what they said with 3D Pregnancy because he has been having the hiccups none stop over the last week or two!! LOL Anyway... here is what's going on with Kyler for this week...

The following is from 3D Pregnancy:
"One uncomfortable complaint of late pregnancy is frequent hiccups. No, not you, your baby. Because there is no air around your baby, when she practices breathing, it can cause amniotic fluid to get into her windpipe, resulting in those regularly spaced thumps that make you think you're carrying a jumping bean in your belly.

The placenta is lending your Mini antibodies that'll keep him strong and healthy after birth. That said, it's still a good idea to invest in that mega-size bottle of hand sanitizer."

The following is from WhatToExpect.com:
"Your baby's weight and height have probably increased only a little from last week (and your overstretched skin at 39 weeks pregnant is probably grateful for that). But his or her brain is still developing rapidly (a pace that continues during the first three years of life), with changes you'll be able to recognize firsthand as your baby's skill-packed bag of tricks expands almost daily.

Heard that babies cry a lot? There's definitely truth to that rumor — as you'll find out soon enough (and usually during the middle of the night). But what you may not have heard is that tiny babies don't produce tiny tears when they cry, since their tear ducts aren't open for business yet. While you'll be consoling your crying baby right from the get-go, it won't be until sometime after the first month that you'll be wiping tears off those chubby cheeks.

Your baby's skin has now finally changed from pink to white (no matter how dark-skinned he or she will be eventually; pigmentation will occur soon following birth). That's because a thicker fat layer has been deposited over the blood vessels (making your baby's cheeks — both kinds — pinchably and kissably round)."

NEW things for Kyler!!

This week I received another fun gift!! My best-friend and her mom got me the matching mobile and picture frame that matches Kyler's bedroom set!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!! It really completes his part of the room!

The other fun thing I got this week has a bit of a story with it...

A couple of months ago I started looking for a cute blessing outfit for Kyler (I really ended up not liking what I made for him). It took me a while, but about a month ago I finally found one I liked at Dressed In
White! I waited and waited... but, when I went back in there yesterday they only had three left!! So, my mom whispered, "Just get it!" with a smile... so, I did!!!! :)

Here is his little blessing outfit; I got little white booties to match and then I am going to get a little white Golfer's hat!! He will be the cutest little boy EVER!!!!!

38 Weeks

I can't believe I am only 2 weeks away from the due date! The time seems to have flown by and yet... I am SOOOOOOOOO ready for him to get here! LOL I don't know what I am more excited about... meeting my new little man or getting my body back! he he he..... yeah, meeting Kyler wins hands down!

So... we had a doctor's appointment today. The heartbeat sounds wonderful (as usual! ;), my stomach is measuring at 41 centimeters, I have some swelling in my legs, but no signs of pre-labor.

Here's what Kyler is up to this week...

The following is from WhatToExpect.com:
"Hey, your little one isn't so little anymore, weighing close to seven pounds and measuring 20 inches long. Fetal development is nearly complete as your baby tends to a few last-minute details like shedding the skin-protecting vernix and lanugo. He's also producing more surfactant, a substance that prevents the air sacs in his lungs from sticking to one another once he starts to breathe. Most of the changes this week are small but important: He’s continuing to add fat (so he can take advantage of all those photo ops by sporting a round, cute baby look!) and fine-tuning his brain and nervous system (so he can deal with all the stimulation that awaits him once he makes his entrance into the world)."

The following is from 3D Pregnancy:
"Your baby's intestines have accumulated a considerable amount of meconium (the code name for black, tar-like baby poop), which is usually eliminated shortly after birth and gives you your first experience with the 100-wipe diaper change.
Your baby might just scratch herself in the womb as the fingernails have grown over the fingertips now."

Home for the count down

Well, I went to see the doctor today because of all the pain I have been dealing with... I now have lower back pain when sitting for too long. He said that the baby is now hitting some nerves that will effect that area of my back and, because my blood pressure was high, he was afraid that this was stressing me and the baby. So.... due to the fact that I sit all day at work, Dr. Berry gave me a letter to stop working as of today until 6 weeks after the baby is born.

Now, I obviously can't go THAT long with out work and I expressed that to the doctor. He said that, as soon as I am ready to go back after the baby is born, I just need to go see him so that he can release me to go back to work! :)

So... now, I am just going to remain active (since sitting really isn't comfortable anymore) and wait for this adorable little boy to pop out!! LOL

37 Weeks.... so close!

Ok... I am READY!!!! There is not enough room in this body for the two of us anymore! LOL

At today's doctor's appointment today Dr. Berry said that Kyler looked like he was still measuring big, but his heart beat sounded great! Dr. Berry informed me that he will be gone next week and when I asked what that meant his reply was "No pushing until the 17th!" NOT FUNNY!!! LOL And, because the baby was measuring big he sent me to have another Ultra-sound. That turned out to show the baby is actually measuring right on... only 1 day off of my actual date. They showed me his hair again, showed me all of his growing little boy parts, and said that my fluid looked good as well. BUT... Kyler is weighing in at about 7lbs right now and (considering he is supposed to gain a half an ounce per day) if he goes full term he could weigh about 8 lbs! That's not too bad. LOL

So... here's the news on Kyler this week...

The following is from 3D Pregnancy:
"Your baby is officially baked this week! That means you could literally give birth at any given moment. A terrifying, exciting and overwhelming concept, all rolled into one.

Huge news this week: You're carrying a full-term baby! If you were to go into labor today, all systems would be a go. Woohoo! Even though you can't wait for the little bambino to quite literally rear his head, keep in mind that your bun benefits from every day in the oven. Other ticker-tape-worthy developments:

Baby's growth slows down dramatically this week, which is great news for your birth canal. His bones are still soft and pliable and will solidify after he's born. More great news for your birth canal.

So if he's all cooked and ready to go, what the heck is he still doing in there?! He's busy practicing for "life on the outside," working on his breathing, sucking, sleeping, gazing and peeing abilities. The only thing he can't practice yet is his ability to scream at the top of his lungs when he's hungry—but he'll do plenty of that in a few weeks.

At this point babies vary in size, but the average length is between 19 and 20 inches and most babies weigh approximately 6 pounds. About the size of an average largemouth bass caught in Minnesota by your cousin Earl."
